Finding Our Depth Workshop

Growing Skill, Capacity and Attunement in EFT

Service Description

For very good reasons, EFT therapists are generally focused on their clients and the clients’ personal and relational development. This workshop is an opportunity to focus on the therapist’s own development as an EFT practitioner. Whether your goal is to become a certified EFT therapist or to deepen your clinical work, this workshop provides an opportunity to revisit the EFT process and attend to ourselves in service of the lifelong learning of EFT presence and skill. We will begin by reviewing the clinical skills that are required in the certification process. This will include the EFT Tango and delineating the skills that are needed in Stage 1 and Stage 2 work. We will then turn our focus to expanding our own capacities for this process; what is the difference between teaching our clients about emotion vs. fostering an experience? It has been said that if the work doesn't feel risky, we are not doing EFT - but what does it take from us to move to, and remain, in these risky places? In this workshop we will have space to identify and grow the changes in ourselves as we wade into ever deeper waters and take clients to their growing emotional edges, again and again. Finally, EFT training and certification now explicitly includes the capacity to effectively engage with clients in all their diversity. We will address specific ways to open and engage with identity and culture in our work. This workshop will include lecture, videotape, small group exercises and opportunity for personal reflections. Come join us! Objectives: Participants will: 1) be able to identify the difference between tracking emotion and being in emotion 2) be able to delineate the EFT skills needed for Stage 1 vs Stage 2 treatment 3) increase their awareness, flexibility and depth with the EFT Tango 4) grow their comfort for staying with emotion 5) identify blocks to taking charge of a session 6) learn specific ways to open and stay with clients’ identity and culture Presented by: Elana Katz, LCSW, Certified EFT Trainer New York License PR20258-1; New Jersey License SC03550 Carolyn Wenner, LPC-S, Certified EFT Supervisor
